Willamette Valley Dog & Cat Motel Website Redesign

My Role:

Design and Development

Background:

The WVDCM needed to revamp their old website. The outdated CMS hindered their ability to update the site, leading to a stagnant online presence. While aiming to retain their existing branding and colors, their ultimate goal was to infuse the website with a fresh, modern, and fun look.

The Process

I began by updating the homepage for our client, WVDCM. Incorporating their new logo into the header, above the navigation, gave it a fresh look. To add vibrancy, I replaced the paws background with a rotating hero section showcasing joyful images of cats and dogs engaged in various activities.

Improving accessibility, I revamped the color palette for better contrast. By introducing more margins and padding, I enhanced the information hierarchy. Emphasizing WVDCM's forms for new and existing customers, I designed large, rounded buttons in a captivating dark forest green with yellow text on a white background.

Using the homepage as a template, I carried its design elements to the interior pages. To infuse playfulness, I strategically placed pet-themed icons throughout the site. And to retain a familiar touch, I integrated the beloved paws as list icons, which WVDCM loved.

I optimized the design for various screens, paying particular attention to mobile because that was a big pain point.
